Abstract

This paper explores the multifaceted impacts of music festivals on cultural tourism, focusing on both economic and social dimensions. Music festivals have emerged as significant drivers of cultural tourism, attracting a diverse range of visitors and generating substantial economic benefits for the host destinations. The economic impacts are manifested through increased spending on accommodation, transportation, food, and entertainment, as well as the potential for long-term investment and infrastructure development. On the social side, music festivals contribute to the enhancement of local culture, fostering community pride and engagement, and promoting social cohesion. However, the paper also acknowledges the potential downsides, such as increased congestion, environmental degradation, and issues related to festival tourism sustainability. The analysis is based on a review of relevant literature and case studies, highlighting the complex interplay between music festivals and cultural tourism and the importance of strategic planning and management to maximize positive outcomes while mitigating negative effects.
