Abstract

The paper investigates the role of ethnic media in shaping the representation and identity of diasporic communities. It explores how these media outlets, which cater to the cultural and linguistic needs of immigrants and their descendants, contribute to the maintenance and negotiation of cultural identities. By examining various case studies, the study argues that ethnic media serves as a crucial platform for diasporic communities to express their cultural values, preserve their heritage, and foster a sense of belonging. The paper further examines the challenges faced by these communities in adapting to new environments while retaining their cultural distinctiveness. It concludes that ethnic media plays a significant role in bridging the gap between the past and the present, thereby reinforcing diasporic identities.
