The study of animation as a discipline within the broader field of visual arts has been transformed by advancements in technology, the expansion of creative boundaries, and the profound cultural impact it has on society. This paper explores the interplay between technology, creativity, and the cultural significance of animation. It begins with an analysis of the technological innovations that have propelled animation forward, including the evolution from traditional hand-drawn techniques to computer-generated imagery (CGI), and the rise of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). The central focus then shifts to the creative processes and approaches that have emerged as a result of these technological advancements, examining how animators have leveraged digital tools to push the limits of storytelling and visual expression. The cultural impact of animation is discussed through its role in shaping public perceptions, influencing social norms, and contributing to global cultural exchange. The paper argues that animation, as an art form, serves as a powerful medium for cultural expression, and that an understanding of its technological and creative evolution is essential for appreciating its cultural significance.
